Lauren Southwick is a research project manager at the Penn Medicine Center for Digital Health. Her primary focus is on the Center's Once Upon a Time Foundation Grant. Lauren's research focuses on investigating how digital media data and digital communication can be used to improve psychiatric evaluation and treatment. She is also interested in health communication, health and digital literacy, as well as policy, systems and environmental change approaches.
Prior to joining the team, Lauren worked at New York University College of Global Public Health in the Division of Social Epidemiology. She graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a bachelor's degree in sociology and earned her master's degree in public health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences where she concentrated in health communication and social/behavioral change theories.
